Free Watershed Wise Landscape Professional Training class

August 13, 2018 - August 14, 2018

The EPA Watersense certified WWLP training is a free opportunity offered by the District for Professional Landscapers to learn more about landscaping using a systems approach, redefining not only how we use water in the landscape, but how we design and maintain our landscapes for the climate we have now and into the future.  It’s a professional level class with basic watershed-approach theory on day one and immediately practicable calculations and formulas on day two.

The class is scientifically current and emphasizes designing landscapes as living systems; from understanding the biology and characteristics of healthy soil beyond chemistry to calculating plant water needs, accurately predicting total irrigation run times, effectively hydrozoning, sizing and contouring for both active and passive rainwater catchment, eliminating irrigation runoff, and more. The ideas are scalable from residential sized landscapes to commercial or institutional projects.

The WWLP Certification Exam will be administered at the end of day two.  It is the only one of the 5 EPA certified IA programs that focuses on living systems and the watershed approach and is aligned with DWR policy and MWELO so it is an excellent companion to traditional irrigation auditor/manager programs like QWEL and CWMP.

See the flyer for more details and register today:

Space is limited for this FREE professional landscape training. Participants are required to attend both days.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided on both days for participants.
