Tahoe Basin & Sierra Valley Chapter Herbs as Medicine Workshop

May 4 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

The Tahoe Basin & Sierra Valley Chapter is excited to offer this fun workshop, led by local botanist and herbalist, Nancy Harnach. Nancy was raised in Sattley, and has spent much of her adult life, with her late husband Bill, dedicated to understanding and describing the flora of Sierra Valley.
In this workshop you will learn a short history of herbs “the first medicine” about several local native, naturalized and garden plants and their medicinal properties. Nancy will share her knowledge of making teas for your personal needs.

You will participate in making a tea blend you design for yourself to take home. Basic dry herbs will be provided.

The second half of the workshop will include a walk in the nearby forest, where Nancy will teach us about the medicinal uses of the plants that we observe. You will also learn about tincture making, and gathering and preparing select plants for medicinal use.

For more information, contact Jeannette Halderman at (530) 412-1062 or
