Shrubberies, Wind Screens and Ground Covers: Garden Room Elements with SF Native Plants

May 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

San Francisco Public Library and Yerba Buena chapter present: Shrubberies, wind screens and ground covers: garden room elements
Small gardens in San Francisco benefit from approaching these outdoor areas as garden rooms. San Francisco native plants can provide lovely elements for garden rooms including shrubberies/hedges, wind screens, ground covers and erosion control.
Susan Karasoff gardens in San Francisco’s clay soil. She is a member of the California Native Plant Society – Yerba Buena (San Francisco) chapter. Karasoff has an “only the easiest plants survive” approach to gardening. She grows a buffet of colorful native edible and pollinator plants, specifically gardening to feed caterpillars and bees.
