Rare Plant Treasure Hunt: Hulsea brevifolia

Join Alta Peak Chapter for a Rare Plant Treasure Hunt on Saturday August 11, 2018!
We will be surveying two populations of the showy sunflower Hulsea brevifolia in Sequoia National Park and Sequoia National Forest. These locations are 2 of the 3 southernmost populations. There are others scattered in the central Sierra but not in great abundance.

Meet in Three Rivers and the Memorial Building at 8:30AM. We will drive through Giant Forest, along General’s Hwy and on to Big Meadow in Sequoia Forest! Bring water, lunch, and layered clothing for any type of weather. Be prepared for the possibility of smoke depending on the wind.
