Plant Talk Panel, featuring Yerba Buena’s Susan Karasoff

January 18 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Do you have a burning question you’ve always wanted to ask a landscape design or maintenance expert? Have a question about a specific plant or landscape challenge where nothing seems to work no matter what you do? Styled after NPR’s long-running and popular “Car Talk” program (click HERE if you are unfamiliar with “Car Talk”) and initiated at the 2020 Water Conservation Showcase, this series is designed to address landscape, garden, and plant questions from attendees. The program may also include a guest panelist, garden-based puzzlers, a “stump the chumps” segment where we check up on a questioner from a previous session and a “conservation corner” where we discuss ways to save resources in the landscape.

The regular Plant Talk panelists are Sarah Sutton (Landscape Architect, long-time instructor for UC Berkeley Extension’s Landscape Architecture program and author of The New American Front Yard: Kiss Your Grass Goodbye!, an award-winning guide to transforming lawn-centric yards), and Cielo Sichi (owner of Landfour Landscape Architecture, Chair of The Horticulture Department at American River College and lead instructor for ReScape California qualification trainings).

The special guest instructor for this session will be Susan Karasoff representing the California Native Plant Society – Yerba Buena (San Francisco) Chapter. Questions on identifying native plants, pollinator friendly drought tolerant plants, edible drought tolerant plants, easy-to-maintain drought tolerant plants and colorful drought tolerant plants are ideal for Susan.
