Join us to learn how to create an enticing, exciting landscape for your native plant garden!
Our speaker will cover the following points and more:
– Provide an overview of the steps for creating a landscape design
– Highlight the important role native plants play in the home landscape
– Discuss the unique challenges with selecting plants for the central valley
– Share some of his favorite native plants
Our speaker: Jim Brugger
Professionally, Jim is a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system design. He currently works as the Senior Mechanical Engineer in Facilities Management at UC Merced.
Jim has been involved with the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) since 2005 and is currently serving as Treasurer of the North San Joaquin Valley Chapter. As a CNPS Garden Ambassador, Jim provides community outreach and has designed educational, school garden projects at Merrill F. West High School in Tracy, Mary Lou Dietrich and Chrysler Elementary Schools in Modesto and Rising Sun School in Vernalis.
Jim also offers low-cost, native plant-specific landscape design services to assist homeowners with introducing native plants into their own landscapes.
