Inspirational Outings: Public Lands of California’s Central Valley
January 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

As we begin 2023, join us for an engaging virtual talk and tour of wonderful Central Valley destinations and the stewards and naturalists among them! These are places where endemic species may be observed, including unique ecosystems filled with some of California’s iconic and well-known native flora and fauna, including some under careful watch.
Our speaker is Dr. Jeanne Knapp who wears many hats here in the valley. In particular, she is an instructor of the California Naturalist Program which is how our webinar coordinator (Cynthia Typaldos) became aware of her and her incredible knowledge of the San Joaquin Valley. Full biography below.
Dr. Knapp will emphasize readily accessible public lands, including California State Parks, Nature Reserves, Wildlife Refuges, and an abundance of destinations you might consider as you plan your nature explorations in the new year. You’ll learn about some of the partner professionals who share their expertise in the complex systems of natural resources, and their understanding of relationships between humans, and the species with whom we share the land and water.
Our glimpse of these special places will feature touchstones that sparkle, challenges, and contemporary projects with an eye toward a future that includes thriving “native” ecosystems. You might find yourself planning a handful of personal hikes or day-trips!
