Frazier Mountain Rare Plant Treasure Hunt
July 20, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
When: Saturday, July 20th at 9am
Where: Chuchupate Campground, Ventura County
Trip Leader: David Magney, email@example.com
Help CNPS conduct a botanical survey and look for rare plants in the upper reaches of the Santa Clara River watershed. There will be opportunities to learn Rare Plant Treasure Hunt protocols. Bring water, sturdy shoes, sun protection and be prepared to potentially hike off-trail or on unstable ground.
Meet at Chuchupate Campground at 9am on Saturday morning. If you wish to stay overnight, camping is available by reservation online or first-come first-served. The campground is approximately 2.5 miles up Forest Service Road 8N04/Frazier Mountain Road, from the Chuchupate Ranger Station just off Lockwood Valley Road. This is a dry camp, so everyone will need to bring plenty of their own water, etc. An Adventure Pass, or Senior America the Beautiful Pass is required for parking anywhere in this area. They can be purchased at the Chuchupate Ranger Station.
Contact David Magney for RSVP or additional details.
