Botanical Walk in Sierra Valley

June 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join local Botanists Jeannette Halderman and Brett Hall for a morning stroll amongst the meadows and sagebrush habitat near the headwaters of the West fork of the Feather River. You will experience a diverse flora amongst several habitats, including a multitude of wildflowers.

Bring a lunch as we will end the walk in a nice location for socializing and questions.

What to bring: Water, closed toes shoes, sunscreen, your favorite books of floras, hat, snacks, lunch, bug spray, and curiosity.

  • From Truckee, Take 89 North, at Sierraville stop sign, make a left onto 89/49S signs to Quincy.
  • Drive 4 miles and turn Right at Sattley Store onto A23/Westside Road.
  • Drive 15 miles.
  • Just after railroad tracks and before the Feather River crossing, meeting location is at gate on left side of road.
  • Please note there is no or little cell reception at this location.
