Default Mojave Desert, Inyo, Kern, and San Bernardino counties

14-17 April 2001: The wildflowers are in rare and spectacular form throughout the western Mojave Desert, from the Little Lake area in Inyo County south to Adelanto and beyond in San Bernardino County, along Highway 395. Between about Inyokern and the Red Mountain area, the ground is solid green, with scarcely a grain of sand showing. Lasthenia and Phacelia are in abundance, along with Dichelostemma pulchellum. Stylocline psilocarphoides was spotted at Inyokern, and yellow fields of Coreopsis could be found Between Randsberg and Kramer Junction. Others too numerous to mention were also in fine form.
