Default Lichen identification in San Diego

Can someone tell me the name of a grayish-green lichen that grows on rocks in the San Diego area? This was in a canyon by Adobe falls if that makes any difference. I'm guessing it's either hammered shield or salted rock-shield, but I want a more educated opinion...

Hi Pam, Did Les get an id on the lichen for you? What kind was it? That area is subject to so much traffic exhaust I'm surprised there are lichens there. Cindy
