Default Gathering Red Fescue seed

Excuse my extreme ignorance here. I have some Red Fescue that is going to seed and would like to gather some for future propogation. There are light brown pods? with small split ends that hang from the heads of grass which I have been gathering, but am becoming a little skeptical that they contain seeds. Perhaps they are pods that have already broadcast the seed into the native environs? I know I probably have already mangled some biological terms here, but any help would be appreciated. -Fin'blue elder also under attack'n</p>
