Default Leopard lilies with dark brown spots!

I am a new gardener and I can't figure out what I did wrong with the lilies. They were growing pretty well until yesterday when I noticed the dark spots. Do you think I over-watered them?

The only thing I can think is that about 2 weeks ago we had a big storm here in Sacramento and that the hale may have damaged them. They seemed ok then

Francine -

Well, hail will definitely damage the leaves of plants, so that is a strong possibility.

On the other hand, if the spots get worse, you might want to do an Internet search for diseases of lilies and see what you come up with. I can't recall encountering this particular symptom, but there are thousands of plant diseases out there - so many that it seems like a miracle our plants survive at all.

With luck, it will turn out to be mere mechanical damage from the hailstorm.

Cheers,
