Default Unidentified Bush

I'm having difficulty identifying this plant. My best guess so far is Baccharis salicina (aka, B. emoryi), but the images on calflora and elsewhere show a lot of variation in the leaf shape and so I'm uncertain. This plant was found growing east of Palm Springs near Pushawalla Palms.

Appears to be Hazardia squarrosa, sawtooth goldenbush.
