Re: Ceanothus (yankee point) seeds
I have heard that Yankee Point is a selection that was collected from a plant on Yankee Point. If this is so, all subsequent Yankee Point ceanothus plants were propagated by cuttings from this source. If seeds are available, the plants grown from them would not be the Yankee Point selection. They may or may not have the desirable characteristics of the parent plant. If you wish to propagate the plant from cuttings, it is recommended that lateral shoots, rather than upright shoots be used. These are more likely to result in the low growing mat form.</p>
