Arctostaphylos groundcovers for L.A.

Hi,
Anyone out there care to share their success at growing the so-called groundcover type Arctostaphylos'? I have been encouraged by how easy and drought tolerant some types can be and I would like to try some of the dwarf forms. A. 'sentinel'; A. 'Howard McMinn'; A. 'sunset' are doing well in my yard, having survived without summer irrigation.
