Default Biological Science Technicians, Eldorado National Forest

The Eldorado National Forest is looking to staff a botany and invasive plant crew for the summer. Biological Science Technicians are needed for 3-8 months, with pay ranges from $14.98 to $25.98 per hour (GS-4 to GS-7, depending on experience). Candidates would preferable start in May, but the starting date is flexible.

Job descriptions and Qualifications:
Primary duties for the botany crew are to conduct field surveys for rare plants. Additional work would include native plant collecting, implementing restoration projects, and environmental education. Primary duties for the invasive plant crew are to survey for and treat invasive plant species across the Forest. Desired skills for both crews include: enthusiasm for plant identification using taxonomic keys, familiarity with California flora, non-vascular plant ID; and proficiency using GPS, topographic maps, and compass. Ability to operate vehicles on rough roads, including use of 4WD is necessary for the position. Qualified candidates must be in good physical fitness; and be willing to work under difficult/strenuous conditions throughout the summer.

It is recommended to apply for multiple grade levels to insure that your application is considered at the highest grade level which you qualify for:
