Default PS: Are you sure you want a Fremontia for a Street Tree?

P.S. Galen: My only concern with using a Fremontodendron as a street tree are the stellate hairs on the leaves, that might cause an unsuspecting passerby to itch uncontrollably. If you can be sure it`s pruned up and out of contact with pedestrians, go for it. Otherwise, you might want to consider something like a Ceanothus arboreus instead - they grow fast, can be pruned up easily, and have lilac-like flowers. And if you don`t put them on drip, fertilizer, soil amendments or summer water once established, they should last a lifetime like they do in their natural state. Good luck.</p>
