Default New Hort. Teacher Needs Sample Syllabi/Curricula

I am a second year high school teacher. Next fall I will teach the first horticulture class in our school's recent history, and would like to see what a syllabus might look like. So far I have started a small school garden in an old batting cage. I also have experience as founder of a community garden. Any ideas?

Stan -

The LA/Santa Monica Mountains Chapter of CNPS has a wonderful handbook on creating native habitat gardens at schools. It was put together by Betsey Landis, and is a wonderful resource. Of course, it focuses on Southern California. If you are located in the southern portion of the state, you are in luck. You can probably get information on how to get this publication by going to the LA/Santa Monica Mtns. Chapter website.

If you are in the north, well - CNPS is hoping to create a northern version, but we need the northern chapters to turn in plant lists appropriate for their areas.
