Default Teaching children about the value of native vs non native pl

I will be conducting a program for children in 3rd in which I will be teaching them about the importance of native plants and the potential problems for native habitats and wildlife. Does any one have suggestions of activities to teach this to a group of third graders in a meaningful way?

a good way to teach third graders the value of Native Plants for wildlife? sure, prepare large quantities of yummy fruits on a large table and talk about where it all comes from and how it all is produced and then throw it all away. :}
