Default California orchids

I'm trying to find information about conservation efforts to protect native orchid species in California. I will be hosting a short topic on orchid conservation after a previously arranged chat on Goodyeara and Govenia and the Orchid Specialist Group on June 14th, and would like some links which I can provide to our members about local conservation efforts, so that we might become more proactive, rather than just gripe about CITES, import restrictions, and loss of habitat.

Additionally, if anyone has any information about how CITES is affecting local Californian efforts to 'rescue' native plants, including orchids, I'd be interested in hearing.

Thank you,

K Barrett
