Default Box Canyon Road and Painted Canyon, Mecca Hills (Riv. Co.)

Box Canyon Road between the 10 and Painted Canyon is a super locality. Many things are blooming and based on the good rain this afternoon many more should be blooming in the next month or so. Species observed blooming today: notchleaf phacelia, arizona lupine, mojave groundsel, chia, little gold poppy, desert poppy, woolly plantain, sweetbush, spanish needles, sand blazing star, mustard evening primrose, desert fir, chuparosa, palo verde, desert lavender, hoffmanseggia, brown-eyed primrose (yellow variant), ghost flower, desert sunflower, heartleaved evening primrose, desert tobacco, thickleaved ground cherry, brandegea and rock daisy.
