Default San Franicisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park

The San Franicisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park is a good place to go if you are looking for to see or photograph flowers. Much is in bloom and the foggy or cloudy days create nice diffuse light for close-ups. There is a good sized native plants section as well as plants from around the world. Some of the native currently bloomoing are Mimulus auratiacus, Ceanothus, Fremontia, Phacelia, Roomneya "Whitefellow", Carpenteria californica,Evening primrose, and Escholtzia californiaca. Some of the plants were cultivars and some were not labeled.Amon the non-natives I found the Leucospermums or Pincushion plants especially photogenic.
