Plants to compete with

I've cleared some large areas of dense, tall French broom as part of a multi-year project to clear our two-mile road and environs of the plant in Santa Cruz county.

I'd like to get native plant seeds to make ground cover that can compete with French broom regrowth.

Areas to cover are from 2500 to 5000 square feet. The areas get enough sun to support tall dense stands of French broom. I assume the best time to plant would be at the start of the next rain season.

Thanks.

Tom

In checking this type of situation out I would think that you should use a compost over the affected areas for a year or two before trying natives.
Maybe thie info at this link will be helpful.
