ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT)($17.75 - $32.95/HOUR) -- TEHACHAPI DISTRICT The reporting location for this position is the Tehachapi District office located in Lancaster. This position will work under the direction of the District Services Manager. The incumbent will be part of a team of professionals that plan, oversee, and implement natural resource projects, restoration grant projects, and other environmental activities as part of the District’s natural resource program throughout 11 diverse park units. This is an opportunity to work in the field, conduct biological surveys, and restore habitats for the protection of sensitive species that include the blunt nose leopard lizard, Buena Vista Lake shrew, Mohave ground squirrel, desert tortoise, and bald eagles. The incumbent may be a lead person coordinating activities for volunteers and seasonal staff. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year. State housing is not available.
