Wetlands Management

I am interested in any help anyone can give me in regards to managing a small wetland for migratory waterfowl. It has an existing marsh that is approx. 15 acres, that I believe holds water year round. I would like to make feed plots that include Japanese Millet and other hardy plants. Can anyone give me help regarding what kind of preparation I need to do to have success? When to plant? How much moisture needed? Thanks You.

I would recommend that you use the services of professional wildlife nurseries. I know of two that have been around for quite some time. Both are very well versed in the field of habitat enhancement and restoration with forage designed for game birds and animals.
One does not have a website but has a mailer featuring its inventory of plants that are well defined as for use. Complete planting instructions come with any order. They are
Wildlife Nurseries, Inc.

The other is Kester's Nursery of Omro, Wisconsin.
They have a website:
