Bear Valley (Colusa County) wildflower hotspot

Wildflower blooms in Bear Valley were just beginning when we visited on 20march2010. Bear Valley map & trip report. BRT Bear Valley wildflower photos. I'm planning to return a few more times in April & May to see the peak bloom and the late-blooming species.

Bear Valley to Walker Ridge, via Brim Road May 2011

The flowers coloring the flatlands are not so obviously abundant in Bear Valley as in 2010, but still worth a visit.

The ascent to Walker Ridge via Brim Road boasts an impressive stand of snowdrop bush, Styrax redivivus, and flowering ash, Fraxinus dipetala.
