Is manzanita gluaca the tallest growing manzanita--how long do you think it would take to grow 8 ft. high and how high does it get? how deep is the root system? Any info would be appreciated. I want to plant the manzanita that has the largest/most dramatic display of of the reddish branches.</p>

From the half-dozen manzanitas in our yard, the 'Lester Rowntree' introduction from RSA is by far the darkest bark of the ones we have, and looks like it's going to be a classic.
From Lenz & Dourley's book: 'Tall and spreading up to 10ft. Most attractive in both flowers and fruit.'
We fell for one growing at Rancho Santa Ana B.G. and they should have it at their plant sale on Nov 4th.
