I live in Pacifica at the base of Montara Mountain. A local school would like to restore many acres of its property with native plants. I can't find seeds or seedlings for this beautiful local tree/shrub (Arctostaphylos montaraensis). I'm tempted to collect seeds when I go hiking at San Pedro Park just so I might grow my own for the site, because I don't know where to get them.

I'm sure this manzanita was native on their hill at one time, as well as other plants that we will also plant. We're slowly taking out Eucalyptus trees and will be replacing them with young Coast live oaks, Madrones, Ceanothus, and similar native shrubs; we have many other native shrubs still on the site. I really would like to plant some Montara Manzanitas, but where do I get them?

Any suggestions?!?
