I will be working on a riparian restoration project in Sacramento County and am trying to get ahold of some information regarding planting criteria for Sambucus mexicana, blue elderberry. I am also interested in finding examples of planting successes for S. mexicana in other restoration projects. Any information, references, or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Please check with Bitterroot Restoration. They have a web site and local office in Lincoln (I think). They did extensive work for Yosemite National Park after the 97 Flood. They had excellent success with S. mexicana. Drop me a note and I can put you in touch with some other folks as well. Ben
