I have another historical query for anyone out there concerning what would have been the understory in the San Diego River coastal stretch. A management plan is being developed for the river and it would be nice to understand what one would like to strive for to help the area cover. Currently Nasturium is the most common understory plant in many places and Arundo has a significant toehold in many sections. Iva hayesiana and Atriplex triangularis have been proposed but I do not know how to find out the actual recorded species. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Cindy
