Fullerton's Coyote Hills are an area encompassing about 700 acres. It is dominated by California sagebrush-California buckwheat. It is home to 60 pairs of California Gnatcatchers as well as 130 species of wildlife according to the EIP. This area is mostly owned by oil companies who fenced it off helping to preserve the area. I have never known of a fire there. It is slated for developement with the first subdivision(52 acres) being voted by City Council on March 20 at 7:30pm. If anyone has any information on groups, legal, or other options to help stop this, PLEASE let me know.
