Am looking for on-line sites where current blooming conditions are reported for all kinds of native species. I live in Nevada County, and while I am particularly interested in the foothills, I am also interested in reports from around the state. Thanks.

The only wildflower status webpage of which I'm aware is for the deserts: http://www.desertusa.com/wildflo/ca.html We hope that this site will eventually become such a resource. In the meantime, please look at the websites or newsletters of your local CNPS Chapters and consider taking some of their field trips, which are usually planned for peak bloom time! See also following postings re: the desert, which is not so great this year.

Check out the California Wildflower Hotsheet at: http://www.calphoto.com/wflower.htm. Run by a Nevada City resident, Carol Leigh, it covers all of California. Up-to-date reports of wildflower blooms.
