View Full Version : Planting Toyon From Seed

I am looking for information on how to plant toyon from seed. This is an activity I would like to do with my students in San Luis Obispo. We have a clay soil and can amend the soil with compost if needed. I would appreciate any help. Can the berries be planted directly in soil? Do the berries need to be dried? Etc, etc. Thanks -tom

If anyone has a pet bird that would work!

I get them popping up everywhere from bird droppings.

You are supposed to store fresh seeds in the fridge damp for 3 months in damp perlite. Clean them so they don't mold. Try some in plain soil also, it might work.
