I am a PhD student at UC San Diego, conducting my dissertation research on the factors responsible for maintaining flower color differences between eastern and western populations of bush monkeyflower Mimulus aurantiacus in San Diego County. As such, I am planning several experiments for this spring that involve pollinator observations and the creation of experimental gardens. I am looking to find locations to conduct these field experiments, paricularly in the east county Lakeside, Ramona, Alpine, Descanso, etc.where flower colors are predominantly yellow. If anyone would be willing to allow me to conduct this research on their property, I would greatly appreciate it. I am ideally looking for areas that are open, relatively flat, and somewhat close to a natural population of monkeyflowers. Than you.

Mark, I may have have the type of monkeyflower you are looking for. I have 3.5 acres at the elevation of 2400 ft. on the north slope of Lawson Valley, Wisecarver Lane. Email me directly if you are still interested and we can talk about it. Walt
