I am looking for any information on propagation of QUVA huckleberry oak from cuttings. This would be for eventual outplanting on sunny, dry decomposed granite soils in the Tahoe Basin. ---best season to harvest cuttings, time span to planting, are hormones needed, etc.</p>

Scott -
You might have to speak to a professional tree propagator someone from a timber company, a botanic garden, a university research station, etc to find out if any oaks can be propagated via cuttings.
I haven't heard of it being done - everyone grows oaks from the acorns. There is plenty of information out there - in books and on the Internet - about growing oaks from acorns. I haven't seen much about Quercus vaccinifolia, though. If I lived within its native range, I would certainly want to grow it - a fabulous shrub!
Good luck,
