I had the idea of planting a wild blackberry in a far unused cornerof my yard in L.A. city to deter feral cats.But then I heard that the blackberries would draw and harbor rodents in my yard so I held off planting it. Given a choice between rats or cats, I'll take the cats.I have since purchased a rosa califonica to create a thicket but am still wondering aboutplanting the blackberry. Any comments on the blackberry/rodent connection? Would I regret planting a rampant blackberry vine anyway?</p>
