Hi all!Can anyone tell me the origins of Salvia Mellifera var. 'Terra Seca?'</p>

Sorry for the response delay. My understanding of Salvia mellifera 'Terra Seca' is limited to what I've read in Betsy Clebsch's 'Book of Salvias', Timberline Press, Inc. 1997. I hope this is what you're looking for. It was introduced in the 1970's by the Saratoga Horticultural Foundation from a plant at the UC Botanical Garden in Berkeley. Lewis Edmunds cultivated it in the 1950's. It is found in some nurseries under the name'Prostrata' but that name is being abandoned for its real name-'Terra Seca'. It is a coastal scrub sage that is found on dry slopes &lt; 2000 ft. It hybridizes readily with Salvis apiana, Salvia columbariae, Salvia leucophylla and sometimes with Salvia carduacea and Salvia clevlandii. </p>
