I don't know if this is the right place to post this ad, but I have been looking for a plant identification class for awhile. I don't have enough time to take one at a university. Any ideas? thanks.

You didn't say where you were based, but if you're in Los Angeles area, the next meeting of the CNPS LA/Santa Monica Mountains chapter is on this exact subject.

'Plant Identification Workshop will be held - free of charge! - on Tuesday July 10th, 7.30pm to 10pm. Chapter botanists will show you how to identify common native shrubs and summer-flower plants. Native plant material provided. Sepulveda Garden Center, 16633 Magnolia Blvd., north side of Magnolia between Balboa and Hayvenhurst in Encino.'

Their calendar is also at http://www.lacnps.org/events.htmlbut I don't see this meeting on their yet.

Steve -

Yo! You have to tell people where you live, so someone who also lives in your area can tell you about any plant ID classes there.

Some CNPS chapters hold plant ID classes, and some community colleges hold weekend short courses. Chico State U. has a program of short courses, and they are reasonably priced. This won't help you though, if you live in San Diego!

Cheers,
