Wildflower blooms in Bear Valley (http://daviswiki.org/Bear_Valley) were just beginning when we visited on 20march2010. Bear Valley map & trip report. The flowers coloring the flatlands are not so obviously abundant in Bear Valley as in 2010, but still worth a visit.

The ascent to Walker Ridge via Brim Road boasts an impressive stand of snowdrop bush, Styrax redivivus, and flowering ash, Fraxinus dipetala.
