My husband is a commercial real estate developer who is currently building on what is considered to be the 'gateway site' in Upland, Ca right now. It's the first corner everyone sees when they exit off the freeway to enter Upland. We want to do away with traditional landscape architecture lots of green grass etc.. and instead plant natives everywhere. Here's our problem--the city requires at least 15 gallon sized trees to start out with---the native nurseries I have contacted do not have these readily available. Does anyone know where I could possibly locate -- even dig up? such trees as: Umbelluria CalifornicaFremont Cottonwoods, Cercis Occidentalis, Black Oaks? I am in desperate search of a reasonable sourceif I don't locate them quickly the city will require non native planting instead. THANKS! </p>
