Has anyone got any tips for starting native salvias from cuttings? Particularly the cleveland's sage and cultivars not so much black or white sage.
I've tried 100% perlite and 50/50 perlite and peat moss. But the cuttings shrivel up before they root, despite misting a few times a day. Then I tried the plastic bag treatment, and had one cutting take out of a dozen.
I'm thinking that I might have to resort to a real misting system that could be set up to mist every hour for about a minute. However, I can't find a timer system that can be programmed to turn on for a minute every hour during the day, but not at night.
