Hi-I've been a native plant enthusiast in SF for several years now. From school, I've gotten the assignment of doing some research on houseplants and I wondered if natives could be attractively and successfully grown indoors. Any suggestions welcome. Please e-mail me back.Thanks.Johanna

Hi Johanna,

Tolmeia menziesii Piggyback Plant is a Calif. native that many people know only as an indoor plant because it generally sold as such by retail nurseries. It is actually an outdoor plant Saxifrage family native to redwood forests and other cool, moist areas of northern CA and Oregon. It is primarily a foliage plant and does not like hot, dry conditions. Good luck with your project. Kate
