Cuttings that do well under mist

Hi all.

I'm in the process of setting up an outdoor misting system along with bottom heat to experiment with growing cuttings. The following is a list of some of the native plants I have in my garden that I would like try under this system. Can someone tell me based on their experience or from readings which of these plants will do well under this type of propagation method. Also, any other tips misting interval, best time of year to take cuttings, cutting mediums, etc.. would be greatly appreciated.

I too am looking to install a misting system and will be growing mostly the same sorts of plants, particularly salvias. I already grow a lot from seeds, including buckwheats, but haven't had much success with cuttings.

A couple of classes we've attended including Theodore Payne Foundation class on cuttings advise running the mister very briefly every hour, and planting in a mixure of perlite and potting soil must be sterile. They use Rootone, but it's seems debatable how useful it is.

Robert Smaus's book '52 Weeks in a Calif Garden' also advised misting frequently during the day, and using purely perlite; placing in filtered sun was also his method.

I'd be curious to know how you get on, and if you find a timing device that is capable of being programmed to turn on briefly every hour during the day, but not during the night.
