Southern California National Forests EIS
The United
States Forest Service (USFS)
is in the process of preparing an Environmental Impact Statement
(EIS) in conjunction with the
revision of the Land and Resources Management Plans for
the Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres, and San Bernardino National
Forests. CNPS needs your participation to ensure proper
protection of the native flora pursuant to this new EIS.
The summer
newsletter from the Angeles National Forest indicates that
the 1982 planning regulations will be used for the EIS, instead
of the 2000 planning regulations.
Additional information is given on the EIS
status page and in the Federal
Register announcement.
Consult the EIS
Time Line for information as to where we stand in the formal
process.
