California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF)

CDF is the state agency responsible for enforcing the laws that regulate timber harvest on non-federal lands in California - it is the lead agency for the CEQA-equivalent THP process.

Board of Forestry and Fire Protection (BOF)
The BOF is responsible for implementing the Forest Practice Act (FPA)  through the Forest Practice Rules (FPR).

We've also included secondary links to the Statement of Planned Actions (SOPA) for each forest that has a web page on this topic.  The SOPA provides notice of NEPA actions in each forest.  If you plan to follow activities, such as logging, in a national forest, you will need to follow its SOPA.  The best way to do this is to contact the forest and ask to be put on the NEPA/SOPA mail notification list.
