Name Tag Orders Due February 15
We are getting ready to place the next order of CNPS name tags in time to be picked up at the March chapter council meeting. Name tags are usually about $8 each depending on the size of our order; we will invoice your chapter treasurer for the total. If you would like to order name tags for your chapter, please send your list of names as they should be printed, with chapter affiliations, to Becky Reilly, , by February 15.

CNPS Directory Updates Due

Thanks to everyone who responded to our quick survey about a print vs. digital directory – we received some great feedback. Our plan is to stick with print this year, and at some point before next year we’ll likely create a “demo” digital version for you to test and see if it’s something we could use as an alternative. So for now, please be sure to provide your directory updates back to Chris Brown ASAP if you haven’t already (deadline was February 1) so we can have directories printed in time for distribution at the March quarterly meeting. Feel free to contact Chris with any questions at .

Engagement & Outreach Committees - Upcoming Meeting Wednesday, Feb. 22
CNPS Marketing and Communications Director Liv O'Keeffe will be hosting a call to discuss the following topics: education, horticulture, publications and sales, membership, and publicity/website/social media. If you've been active on one of these committees or areas of work (or would like to be), please plan to attend. Agendas and more information will be provided in the coming weeks. If you are interested in attending, please contact Liv at .

Chapter Outreach and Presentation Materials
Have you or members of your chapter created outreach materials and/or PowerPoint presentations for the public? Or, do you wish you had materials or presentations available for use? If so, we'd love to hear from you! We're looking to pull together and develop a Chapter Outreach Kit of helpful presentations, handouts, and other materials that chapters can use as needed. Let's learn from each other and pull together the "best of the best." All ideas and submissions welcome! Please e-mail your materials and/or suggestions to Liv at .

CNPS 2015-16 Conservation Report
Have you seen the beautiful new report that summarizes recent CNPS conservation work? 7,500 copies have been distributed so far with an overwhelmingly positive response, including donations to continue this critical work. If you are interested in supporting conservation, want a print copy for yourself, or want copies to share with friends or supporters in need of inspiration, e-mail . It is also available on the CNPS website here.

This month's FAQ!
Q: How many complimentary memberships can my chapter request, and how should they be used?
A: Each chapter may request up to five complimentary memberships per year to use for outreach purposes. These memberships are to be used strategically, and prospective comp members must fit one of the following criteria:
 - The individual is an official or employee at a state, federal, or local agency that has partnered with your chapter on various aspects of CNPS’s mission.
 - The individual is a representative of another organization that partners with your chapter on various aspects of CNPS’s mission.
 - The individual is a member of the press or media outlet.
 - The individual is affiliated with an institutional donor or foundation from which CNPS may seek (or has received) funding or partnership.
 - Other special circumstances to be determined by CNPS Membership Committee or Executive Director.
To submit up to five individuals for complimentary memberships, a chapter representative may e-mail Stacey Flowerdew, , with the individuals’ names, addresses, phone or e-mail (if available), how they meet the criteria, and if their membership is to be one or two years in duration.

SAVE THE DATE!
Next CNPS Quarterly Meeting

March 10-12, 2017

Why should I attend the Quarterly Meeting?
1. You will connect with, and learn from, other CNPS members and staff from around the state
2. You get to contribute to important decisions that impact our organization during the chapter council session, and learn about the projects that CNPS staff are working on
3. Through social events and field trips, you will meet like-minded people and get to know a new area of the state - it's fun!

Hope to see you there!
