New Chapter Sales Order Form
Our sales staff have put together a new order form to use when your chapter needs to order books, posters, garden signs, and other sales items from the state office for chapter use or resale. This form is available under the "Administrative Documents" header on the admin page of, or by clicking here. Please send completed sales order forms to for processing. As a reminder, a complete list of CNPS store items with chapter pricing is available on the private admin page; please send us an e-mail if you need a reminder about how to access this.

Revised Chapter Council/Board Meeting Reimbursement Form

Based on feedback received at the December chapter council meeting, we have updated the reimbursement request form for travel expenses related to the quarterly meetings for CNPS board members and chapter council delegates. Going forward, please use this version of the form to request any necessary reimbursements (also available under the “Administrative Documents” header on the admin page of E-mail Laureen at if you have any questions.

Welcome Liv O'Keeffe, CNPS Marketing and Communications Director!
Liv joined CNPS at the end of October to lead marketing and communications. Her team will support a number of key functions, including:

  • Chapter and member relations
  • Horticulture marketing (Calscape, garden tours, California Native Plant Week, partnerships, and more)
  • Workshops and events
  • Media relations (representing all programs)
  • Website, social media, and digital platforms
  • CNPS Press, and
  • Publications (CNPS Bulletin, Fremontia, eNews)

Liv O'KeeffePrior to joining CNPS, Liv (pronounced Leev) served as the Digital Marketing Director for Sutter Health, a Northern California-based health care system of more than 50,000 employees. She brings deep experience in marketing and communications planning, digital and content strategy, team leadership, and public outreach. Liv is a passionate nature-love and longtime fan of CNPS who says this role was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to align her personal convictions with her professional background. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in the Sierras, long dinners with friends, and family-time with her husband, Malcolm, and daughters, Fiona and Olivia.

In the coming months, Liv will be scheduling chapter visits and is looking forward to meeting each of you. Next week, she'll be in Los Angeles visiting the LA/Santa Monica Mountains and South Coast Chapters. Feel free to reach out and say hello! Her e-mail is .

Upcoming CNPS Statewide Workshops
We are well underway in planning for our plant science training workshops in 2017. This year, our schedule will include Intro to Plant Identification, Rare Plant Survey Protocols, Vegetation Rapid Assessment/Releve, Vegetation Mapping, CEQA Impact Assessment, Wetland Plant Identification, and some exciting new topics. Q: Where can I find proof of CNPS's non-profit status?
A: If you need proof of CNPS’s non-profit status (for an event venue, or sales, etc.), you are looking for our Letter of Determination from the IRS. This document is available on the admin page of, under the “Governance and Structure” heading, or you can access it directly here. This letter serves as proof of our status as a 501(c)(3) organization.
