Chapter Annual Activities Report Reminder
Chapter Annual Activities Reports for FY 2015 were due on June 1. Thanks to all the chapters who submitted their reports on time! If your chapter has not submitted a report yet, please do so ASAP to assist with our end of the year organization-wide reporting, and to help us issue your subventions in a timely fashion. The updated forms were mailed out to all chapter presidents and delegates on March 24. Please contact Becky, , if you have any questions or would like the form resent to your chapter.

New Annual Chapter Calendar of Important Dates
We have put together a new annual calendar of important dates for CNPS chapters, to help make it easier to plan in advance and know when things are happening. The calendar includes administrative deadlines (e.g., when reports are due to the state office), regularly scheduled e-mails and mailings (e.g., membership reports and renewal notices), publications (e.g., Fremontia and the e-newsletter), and events (e.g., chapter council meetings, native plant week). This calendar is available on the admin page of under "Administrative Documents," or click here to go straight to the calendar PDF.

Quarterly Sales Tax Reports Reminder

We'd like to remind all chapters that quarterly sales tax reports are due this month, on July 21. If you have any questions, please contact Laureen Jenson at .

Forms for FY2016 CAAR and CAFR Now Available
To help make it easier to track your chapter's activities and finances throughout the year, the forms for FY2016 Chapter Annual Activities Reports (CAAR) and Chapter Annual Finance Reports (CAFR) are now available on the admin page of under the newly-titled "Chapter Annual Reports" section. If you have questions about these reports, please contact Becky () and/or Melissa ().

2016 CNPS Statewide Workshops Now Open For Registration
The 2016 statewide plant science workshops schedule and information/registration for each is available on! You can register now for Vegetation Rapid Assessment/Releve in the White Mountains, July 19-21 (deadline is this Monday, July 11!), and Vegetation Mapping in Berkeley, August 1-3. If you would like more information, or a short write-up about upcoming workshops to include in your chapter newsletter, contact Becky Reilly, .

This month's FAQ!
Q: How far in advance do I need to submit an insurance request for my chapter's event?
A: We ask that you submit insurance requests at least 6 weeks before your events to allow us enough time to process them – we cannot guarantee that rush requests will be accommodated. When you schedule an event, ask your venue or the permitting agency what their insurance requirements are right away – even if it’s months in advance! – and submit your insurance request as soon as possible. Insurance guidelines for CNPS chapter events are available on the admin page of under "Chapter Event Insurance" and you can contact Becky at with any questions.

Next CNPS Quarterly Meeting

September 9-11, 2016
Morro Bay, CA

Hosted by the San Luis Obispo Chapter

Why should I attend the Quarterly Meeting?
1. You will connect with, and learn from, other CNPS members and staff from around the state
2. You get to contribute to important decisions that impact our organization during the Chapter Council session, and learn about the projects that CNPS staff are working on
3. Through social events and field trips, you will meet like-minded people and get to know a new area of the state - it's fun!

Hope to see you there!
