Insurance and Seller's Permits for Fall Events
Don't forget to request insurance and any seller's permits you will be needing in advance of your fall events! Refer to the admin page of cnps.org for details and forms, or check out the Event Insurance Information PDF and Seller's Permit Information PDF. Seller's permits have a quick turnaround (though it is best to submit your request a couple weeks in advance), but insurance can take up to 8 weeks for processing. Contact Becky Reilly, , with any questions or to submit a request.
TIP: When requesting insurance, don't forget to send a copy of any contracts or agreements you have with your event facility. We need to review these to make sure we're covering all necessary insurance requirements, and using the correct wording, that the facility legally requires.

Publicize your Fall Events through the Horticulture Events Calendar
Don’t forget to add your upcoming events to the Horticulture Events Calendar! Fall plant sales, symposia, field trips, or even a call for volunteers - the events calendar is a great tool to help publicize your chapter events. Posting to the calendar is easy, just follow the “Instructions for adding an event to the calendar” PDF available on the admin page of cnps.org under the “Horticulture Events Calendar” section. If you need assistance, e-mail .

Call for Native Landscape Design Photos
The CNPS Horticulture Program is working on building a library of native landscape design photos to be used for horticultural education, and needs your help! If you have photos of a native garden, before and after photos of a converted lawn, or just a beautifully designed native landscape, please send them to Caroline Garland, CNPS Horticulture Coordinator, at .

Upcoming Ditch your Lawn! Workshops
The new statewide Ditch your Lawn! workshops program is off to a great start! The next round of workshops is coming up in Redding, Chico, and Encino, and will be expanding even more in the future. Visit www.cnps.org/workshops (click the "Ditch your Lawn!" button) for details. We would love your help spreading the word, especially if you are in a chapter near these workshop locations! Please contact Becky Reilly at  for a stack of printed flyers (NorCal flyer / Encino flyer) or content to use in your chapter newsletters.

CNPS Plant Science Workshops

Coming up soon: CEQA Impact Assessment (Ventura area, November 4-5 - great for CNPS members!). The 2016 schedule is also in the works and will be available soon. For more information, visit www.cnps.org/workshops or contact Becky Reilly at .

SAVE THE DATE!

Next Chapter Council Weekend:

December 4-6, 2015
San Carlos, CA

Hosted by the Santa Clara Valley Chapter

Why should I attend Chapter Council?
1. You will connect with, and learn from, other CNPS members from around the state
2. You get to contribute to important decisions that impact our organization
3. Through social events and field trips, you will meet like-minded people and get to know a new area of the state - it's fun!

Hope to see you there!
